What is in your quote

No guide price, no "from", no asterisk — four things, in black and white.

The full price

The machine, the options you chose, the battery pack and the accessories, added up into one figure, with the tax position stated. No monthly figure, because we offer no credit in the United Kingdom.

The class — and what it requires

Which UK class the machine can be supplied and registered in, and what follows from that: DVLA registration, the 4 mph footway limiter and speed indicator, the minimum age, where you may ride, and whether insurance is required or only recommended.

The delivery options

Whether and how we can deliver to your postcode, with a date and a cost — or collection from Heerde. You know before you decide.

What the law gives you

Your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, with the exceptions named.

What it costs and how long it takes

Nothing. And one working day.

The quote is free and puts you under no obligation. You sign nothing. If you have questions afterwards, ring us — you get a person in Heerde on the line, in English.
Not sure which model yet? Work through the buying guide first, or simply write in the message box which journeys you want to make. We will suggest a model and say why.
How it goes
You ask for the quote: a name, an email address and a telephone number are enough.
We come back within one working day, by phone or by email.
We settle briefly which model suits your journeys and where you intend to ride.
You get the written quote by email — the full price, the class, the paperwork, the delivery options.
You decide in your own time. Not answering is an answer too.

Why every quote starts at 8 mph

Every For Motion model can be supplied limited to 8 mph, which is the ceiling UK law puts on a mobility scooter. Where your chosen model can also meet the other class 3 limits — one seat, no wider than 0.85 m, no heavier than 150 kg unladen, with the 4 mph footway limiter and the speed indicator the regulations require — it can be registered with the DVLA as a class 3 machine, and we confirm that in writing for your model before you buy. A faster version of the same machine exists, and in Britain it is for private land only: a golf course, an estate, a private site. We never call a machine road legal above 8 mph, because in this country it is not one.

So the quote always says two things about speed: the road configuration, limited to 8 mph, and — if you want it — the private-land configuration, with the plain warning that it may not be ridden on a public road, a pavement or any other public place. A supermarket or retail-park car park counts as a public place.

Paying: upfront, with nothing in the small print

Your quote states the full price of the machine and what it includes. You pay in full before we prepare it, using the payment methods offered at checkout, or on invoice where we agree that beforehand. We do not offer instalments, credit or leasing in the United Kingdom.

The quote says what is due and when. Only then do we prepare the machine. Buying at a distance, you have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and your rights to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — including a 30-day short-term right to reject. Goods made to your measurements are outside the right to cancel. Where we can deduct for handling beyond what is needed to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, we say so in the cancellation information itself.

What the law says

The class belongs with the price — so it is in the quote.

Which rules apply to you depends entirely on the machine: a class 2 scooter is incapable of exceeding 4 mph and belongs on the pavement; a class 3 scooter is incapable of exceeding 8 mph, seats one person, is no wider than 0.85 m and no heavier than 150 kg unladen, must be registered with the DVLA and may be ridden from the age of 14; anything faster, wider or heavier is not a mobility scooter at all but a motor vehicle, needing registration, a driving licence and, in most cases, insurance.
A class 3 machine must be registered with the DVLA, may be ridden from the age of 14, must carry a device that limits it to 4 mph plus an indicator showing that the device is working, and must never be used on a motorway. On a dual carriageway with a limit above 50 mph a flashing amber beacon must be used. What applies to your model goes in the quote — not in the small print.
