Are you a manufacturer?

No. We are an importer with our own designs. Our models are built to our drawings and for us; in Heerde we assemble them, set them up and check them. We have no plant of our own.

Where is For Motion based?

At Molenweg 12, 8181 BJ Heerde, the Netherlands. The showroom and the workshop are there.

Do you have a branch in the United Kingdom?

No — and no dealers and no demonstration machines either. We advise UK customers by telephone, WhatsApp and email and write you a quote; delivery to the United Kingdom is possible on request.

How do I buy from you?

You ask for a quote, by telephone on +31 85 212 97 54, on WhatsApp or through the form. Your quote states the full price of the machine and what it includes. You pay in full before we prepare it, using the payment methods offered at checkout, or on invoice where we agree that beforehand. We do not offer instalments, credit or leasing in the United Kingdom.

How long has For Motion existed?

The founder brings over 40 years from the car, motorcycle and scooter trade. For Motion grew out of the observation that mobility scooters with real range did not exist.

Why do you keep talking about the class?

Because the UK rules are not the Dutch ones. Somebody riding a machine capable of more than 8 mph on a pavement is committing an offence that GOV.UK says carries the same penalty as driving a car — prison, a driving ban or an unlimited fine. We would rather you never found that out the hard way, so we say it before you buy.

About For Motion

We do not build mobility scooters off the peg.

For Motion was founded by Henk Jan Renssen, with over 40 years in the car, motorcycle and scooter trade. We moved mobility scooters onto lithium batteries early, and to this day we assemble and repair our machines in our own workshop in Heerde. Not because we have to, but because a mobility scooter is more than a machine: it is the key to doing things for yourself.

Where it started

Further on a charge. That was the gap in the market.

The mobility scooters on offer barely got you past the supermarket on a full battery. Henk Jan saw what the trade was missing: people wanted machines with a great deal more range, so that a whole day out was possible without doing sums about getting home again. That is how For Motion started — mobility scooters on lithium, designed to go the distance.

"Treat somebody else the way I would want to be treated myself." That is the founder's motto, and it is why every enquiry on this site lands with our own people in Heerde instead of in a call centre.

What we are — and what we are not

An importer with its own designs, not a manufacturer with a plant.

Our models are drawn to our own designs and specifications and built for us. We import them into Europe, assemble them in Heerde, set them up and check them before they go out. We do not run a plant of our own in Heerde and we do not claim to.

For you that means original parts from one source, a workshop that knows every model, and somebody to talk to who made the decisions behind the machine.
